Self taught, Martin launched his professional career in the1980's with a series of highly successful prints of Clyde Steamers & Glasgow Tramcars. Several corporate commissions followed including a number of popular "Readers Offers" for the Glasgow Herald. Other works were produced for Shipping Companies, Glasgow Passenger Transport Executive and Charities, including prints for Erskine Hospital for Disabled Ex-Servicemen and The Adventure Sailing Trust.
Original pieces sold to Camsail Fine Arts were still being produced and distributed as prints through various outlets including the famous Burrel Collection in Pollok Country Park in Glasgow.
Although Martins passion is the Sea and Ships more recently Martin has illustrated books written by his wife Soraya and published by Geddes & Grosset.

Martin Conway is an established Artist with works sold widely in the UK and overseas.

Miniatures to Murals, Architectural Drawings, Landscapes, Ink Paintings and Drawings, Aircraft, Trains, Motorcycles and Cars, Cycle Racing Scenes, Wild Life and Fantasy scenes have all been included in Martins range of works.
Martin also has had the opportunity of painting the figureheads of the Sail Training Association Schooners whilst they were undergoing refit.
Over the years Martin has built up a large collection of books (some will become available for sale on this site) and photographs of maritime subjects enabling him to produce historically accurate paintings of vessels old and new
For those seeking the traditional qualities of Marine Art, Martin Conway's paintings are highly recommended for his skills in combining the delicacy of water-colour with sharp and accurate draughtsmanship and an eye for the subtle qualities that create the scene.
